A moment in time

Hello everyone!
Today I'm very excited because it is my very first post at Frosted Designs as a Design Team member!

My page is about 'a moment in time' and how it can change everything in life... I used a picture I found on pinterest - I love using pictures I find on the internet, it is always an inspiration for me.

I used a sheet from the Studio Calico PRINTSHOP paper pad and I have to say that it was a hard selection to stand out a paper from this amazing collection, the patterns are so beautiful and can coordinate with all styles and media, the possibilities are endless! As you can see at the closeups below, I used quite a few stamps and masks with inks, mists, gelatos and gesso and I always do that, to create texture and give dimension to my pages.
If you want to see more closeups pop out at Frosted Designs blog :)

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you got some inspiration from my page!
Until next time, have a  wonderful weekend!

Getting to know ME

Hello friends!
Recently I was invited on a Blog Hop with a difference, by Kay Fatula a very kind and talented lady. Check out her blog and I promise you won't disappointed! She makes not only beautiful layouts and minis, as well as amazing altered projects like boxes and frames.

So, the idea of this blog hop is to share a few things about myself and introduce people who inspire me.
Now I'm supposed to tell a few things about myself...

What am I working on right now
At the moment it is a DT work which will be revealed soon. Here is a sneak peak...

...but there is always something else waiting on my desk to deal with, like journals and minis :)

How long does it take to create a project
That actually depends on what am I creating. But I think the real issue is to find the time to sit on my desk as I am not only a crafter, but also a mother of two kids, wife, housewife, cooker, cleaner, working woman (and as many of you know, this list is endless!)...  Nevertheless I always try to relax and spend some time alone on my desk - I think it would probably take 1-3 hours of actual time spread over 2-3 days.

How does my creative process work
I always choose my photo first and then the colors, papers, stamps and masks that best fit to the photo's subject. I love mixed media techniques, so I like blending different kind of mediums and inks to create texture and give dimension to my pages. Firstly, I remove the photo from the working area and start adding gesso, mists and inks on my masks, then I stamp randomly with several stamps on the texture, to create a connection between the different media. After the stamping, the photo is placed back in possition and it is time to choose the embellishments that fits into the theme.

Here are some pages I created following this process...

How do I become inspired
Inspiration is a strange and unexpected 'thing' that depends from anything or nothing!
Everything on my page has to do with the photo, so that is my motivational trigger.
And how I choose the photo? Well, besides family photos who are always a pleasure to work with, I love to use on my projects photos I find on the internet and social networks like Pinterest and Flickr.

Here are some pages with non family photos...

...but she had wings

Hello friends!
Today we have a super challenge starting at Scrap Africa with this beautiful mood board...

Isn't it gorgeous? All these flowers, the beautiful violin, the color combination, just amazing inspiration!
So, I desided to created a journal page this time and I think I manged to include and combine all the elements given by the mood board with mixed media techniques...

I also inspired by Prima's BAP sketch which is amazing too - I love Kasia's work!!!...

So, I used for my page a paper from an old Prima collection"Tea-Thyme' and some more Prima products I had in my stash: masks, stamps, a typo bulb and some resin frames...

...and I wrote a quote on my page which I found on Pinterest - I really love these words...

When she transformed into a butterfly
the caterpillars spoke not of her beauty
but of her weirdness.
They wanted her to change back
into what she always had been.
BUT SHE HAD WINGS

-Dean Jackson

That's all for today!

bloom

Hello friends!
This is a layout I made and inspired from this beautiful sketch from Scrap365 challenge blog...

The paper I used is from 7Dots Studio Domestic Goddess collection incorporated with  Nature walk collection stickers.  I also used white gesso and mists for masking and did a lot of stamping as always... This is my second entry at 7 Dots Studio July's challenge, I just can't have enough :)

That's it for today, hope you like it!

cherries

Hello everyone and have a nice July!
I can't believe that the first month of the summer is already gone...
Anyway, this is my page for our sketch challenge at Scrap Africa: cherries!
This is the sketch Denice created and as you can see it requires two photos...

...but I decided to use a single photo and cut it in two pieces to create the two photos effect.
I don't know who is the manufacturer of the paper I used for my page, but I really like it because it fits perfectly with the retro feel I wanted to give. I incorporated it with some 7Dots Studio (Domestic Goddess collection) stickers, alphas and chipboard pieces and a piece of green paper (Basic Grey 'Origins'). Of  course I did a lot of stamping and masking and had a great time...:)

I think now it is your turn to create something beautiful,
