Family photo

Hello everyone!
Today we have a new challenge at Frosted Designs: Thanks with a twistUse word THANKS (or THANKFUL or THANKSGIVING, THANK YOU...etc) AND the twist....You must also use one of the following:  Ribbon/Trim, Twine or Washi Tape.
I wrote the word 'thankful' and used washi tape.

This time I did a lot of doodling on my page in order to match the photo which has a line drawing family, my family :)
I feel it's like a kindergarten here, but that's exactly what I had in mind, something colorful and fun to bring happy feelings.

For my page I followed this simply beautiful sketch from The Studio Challenges

Thank you very much for stopping by today,
have a beautiful rest of the day!

Enjoy the winter

Hello everyone!
This is my page for our new challenge at Scrap Africa:

I used 8 cloth tags with which I created the layers of my composition.
This time I decided to use a lot of flowers - at least they are a lot to me, as I usually don't prefer flowers on my projects- and as always some stamps (frames, cogs and text) and a lot of gesso.
The paper is from 7Dots Messy Head collection and I absolutely love it!
I also used some chipboard cogs and a couple of handmade hearts, buttons and paper clips.
That's all really!

With my page I'm joining the Scrapki Wyzwaniowo challenge where we have to use cogs.

So, we are looking forward to see your creations at Scrap Africa:
grab your tags and get creative!
Have a beautiful weekend!

it's a dream

Happy Monday everyone!
Today I'm hosting the Frosted Designs blog with a layout about a dream I had since I was a little girl. I love everything about ballet: watching ballerinas dancing, the costumes, the music... Unfortunately I didn't have the  chance to learn ballet and now it's only a dream never came true. But the good thing is that my 5 years old daughter takes ballet classes and I love watching her dancing!
Anyway, this is my page:

I used a white paper and created my own background with mists, a mask, stamps and gesso. First I glued some paper strips on top and bottom of the page, I applied gesso and then made some masking and stamping with several stamps. After that, I placed the photo in position and added only a few embellishments: a chipboard scroll corner, some flowers, buttons and sequins. To add more interest to my page, I broke some buttons in pieces and glued them on the page. As a final mixed media touch I added a lot of gesso splashes (that's really a fun thing to do - I love splashes:)

One more thing I love doing on my pages is doodling with my permanent pen. I also wrote quite a few times the sentence 'am I dreaming?' and finally I placed the tittle at the bottom of the page.

With this page I'm joining the following challenges:

Words & Paintery: October challenge

Well, I hope you liked my page and got some ideas!
Thank you for stopping by today, I wish you a happy crafty week everyone!

Frosted Designs Blog Hop and my giveaway!

Hello there fellow crafters!!!  Welcome to Frosted Designs "Gift of Giving" Blog Hop!

As you hop along, you will notice each Design Team member has a "secret" word on their blog that makes a quote (my secret word is at the bottom of this post:). After you've completed the hop, go to the Frosted Designs blog and leave us a comment letting us know.  One winner will be randomly selected from the comments to win a $20.00 Gift Certificate to the Frosted Designs Store!!!!

***
With the holiday season lurking just around the corner, we decided to give our members some ideas for fabulous handmade items that can be gifted this year!

I decided to decorate a paper bag in order to use it as a gift bag. I used a huge tag as a base to add my layers and glued some twine at the back, so as to place it to the bag. It also helps to close the bag. Here is the tag...

As you can see I used the big star with the word 'Awesome' from the Heidi Swapp watercolor tag set. This star is made of watercolor cardstock and has a perfect surface to work with many different media on it. I wanted to keep it simple this time and put away my mixed media stuff, but if you want to see what else you can do with it with mixed media techniques you can see this post.

So, let's go to the fun part now:
I have a giveaway prize for all my followers!!!
The only thing you have to do is to follow my blog if you aren't already and put your name on the list below with the InLinkz tool. You have until the 15 November to enter my giveaway. cozy...

Hello scrapy friends!
1st of  November today and we have a new challenge at Scrap Africa.
Denise created a beautiful and very interesting sketch -I just love these squares- so I tried to do my best :)

For my page I used a white paper and created my own background on it with masks, stamps, gelatos and A LOT of gesso. I found my photo on pinterest and that is exactly what I had in mind: something cozy, warm and sweet... a cup of hot chocolate, my favorite winter drink, what else? Looking at this photo reminds me that I HAVE to learn knitting - I'm so in love with these 'mug jackets'.

So, if you are fans of Finnabair's work and blog like me, you already know about her cozy challenge and that's the reason I choose this subject for my page. In order to give a cozy look to my page I added thread, ribbon, lace and a lot of buttons!

That's all for today,
'see' you soon!
