My black journal - last project for LSG

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm sharing my last project for Lindy's Stamp Gang.
I had the best time in this amazing team and I'm really going to miss creating for LSG.
Thank you very much Tracey and Sharon for everything <3

So, this is my third double page spread on my black journal. I used a pretty fun quote 'Life is short, eat dessert first' and tried to make the hole project to look like a candy.

My Black Journal - there is always a way

Hello everyone!
Today I'm sharing the second page of my black art journal I made for Lindy's Stamp Gang.
(here is the first page)

I prepared a photo tutorial, so you can see the steps and create your own.
Ι used two toned embossing powders. They are so unique as not only they are two toned, but they shimmer too!

Lindy’s Shimmering Embossed Resist Technique

1. Choose your favorite colors of embossing powders (I used Queen Sheba's SilverTwilight Bronze Slate and Madonna Robe Blue Gold)  and use them with stamps. After melting you will have this beautiful shiny result.

2. Apply a small amount gesso all over the page and wipe it off the embossed image with a baby wipe. The shimmer and shine will shine once again.

3. Use your favorite colors of sprays here and there (I used I'm Late, I'm Late SlateSteel ShimmerClam Bake BeigePirate's Plunder GoldScreamin' Banshee BlackFrozen Jack Frost).
If you get spray on top of the embossing, wipe it up. It will make sure your shimmering image shows through on your project and it's not altered by the spray.

4. Glue your preferred chipboard pieces and/or embellishments.

5. Spray again with the color sprays in order to incorporate the chipboard pieces into the background. Add stamped images in the background with white ink for more texture.

6. Make some splashes with the gesso or the white color spray. I used them both.

7.  At this point, before the gesso or white spray dries, you can go ahead and wipe the embossed image off again with a damp baby wipe, to keep the shimmering images coming through, and  popping from your background.  You have the option to not wipe to mute the images a bit as well. It all depends on what look you prefer.Add your tittle and your project is ready!

summer tag

Happy August everyone!
Today starts a new color challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang!
I created a tag with the August 2015 Limited Edition Mega Set.

The pallet of this month is so beautiful with all these beautiful colors.
 I just love it!

I wanted to make something colorful and cute, so I used all the sprays of the set. I also used the embossing powders on the background and also to alter the chipboard pieces.

My Black Journal - if you're going to be weird...

Hello mixed media friends!
Today I'm hosting the Lindy's Stamp Gang blog and
sharing the first page of my new black journal. I haven't done the cover yet , I think I'll wait for the big idea to come :) I'm going to fill all the pages with quotes and thoughts! So, here is my first page with a  quote I really like: 'if you're going to be weird, be confident about it'!

I never had a black art journal before, actually I think this is my first time working on a black surface and I have to admit this was a challenge for myself! First I used the Frozen Jack Frost spray to white up the background so as to give a boost to the colors to pop up. I had a lot of fun with the July 2015 Color Challenge Mega Set and I had a blast using everything of this set!

After whiting the black surface, I let it aside to dry and started altering the chipboard pieces. I used the Madonna Robe Blue embossing powder on all of them. I didn't use any gesso before applying the embossing powder because I wanted to show the real color of the chipboard and just the glossy accents the embossing powder gives.

After dealing with the chipboard pieces, I worked on the background. I used several stamps and all the embossing powders of the Mega Set in order to give texture and color range on it. Then I glued the photo and the chippies.

I sprayed with all the sprays of the set here and there, and when I was satisfied with the result, I glued a couple of buttons, the butterfly and the alpha stickers.

As a final touch, I made some splashes with the sprays and some gesso in order to give more contrast to the composition.

I hope you got some ideas today how to use the embossing powders on all over your project!
Thank you for visiting and have a lovely crafty day!

be your kind of beautiful

Hello Lindy's Stamp Gang friends!
Today I'm sharing a canvas about beauty...

I would like to show you one favorite technique: Lindy's Embossed Crackle
It's pretty easy and, trust me, you will love the result!

  1. Choose a chipboard piece, or any kind of paper you like.
  2. Put a thin coat of gesso. You need a white surface so that it will show the actual color of the embossing powder after melting it.
  3. Spread the embossing powder (I used Bonjour Butter) on your chipboard piece. Remove some of it with your finger and heat it with the heat gun.
  4. That's it! Your chipboard is ready to use on your projects. The fact you removed some of the embossing powder with your fingers, influences the finished look of the melted embossing powder.

Let's alter now some alpha stickers with Midnight Pewter embossing powder...

  1. Take some alpha stickers and an embossing powder of your choice.
  2. Spread the embossing powder (I used Midnight Pewter) and heat it! The embossing powder completely changes the piece and it's ready to use!
Crackle finish on stickers:
  1. Use the back side of the stickers. Spread ONLY SOME GRAINS of embossing powder. It is very important to leave some spots white! Heat it. It's ready to use! pic#3
  2. I glued the altered alpha stickers on the first chipboard piece I altered and put a couple of brads. pic #4
Here is my altered chipboard on the finished project...

I also altered a chipboard word with two shades of embossing powders: Midnight Pewter and Orbit Olive Gold

To finish my project I used the July 2015 Limited Edition Spray Set in order to create a mixed media background.

Thank you for visiting!
Have a lovely crafty day!

remember

Happy July everyone!
Today I'm sharing a small canvas I created for my art wall.
It's an elephant drawing with 7 Dots Studio stickers

Here is the July's graphic for your inspiration.
I love this month's color pallet!

Ι decided to make an elephant because I wanted something for my art wall to remind me to remember, not to forget :)
I always have been an absent-minded person: I forget all the time what I want to do in the next minute, or what I did a minute before, names, numbers...  pretty annoying, but also funny. So, if you have any secrets, I'm the right person to tell, lol
They say that elephants never forget, so I think that having one in my room will help my memory :)
I really enjoyed drawing and coloring it with the sprays...
And of course it's already hanging on the wall :)

So, will you play with Lindy's Stamp Gang products this month?
I can't wait to see your projects!

secrets

Hello everyone!
Today I'm sharing a layout I created for Lindy's Stamp Gang and it's about secrets!
All of us have secrets, even small ones, and maybe some mystery in our life! I think that some times that can be fascinating as well miraculous:)
So I wanted to give some sparkle on my page and why not, a little bit of magic!

I used the June 2015 Limited Edition Spray Set Midnight Teal, Orbit Olive Gold and Spring Leaf Chartreuse embossing powders and a lot of glitter. You can see how I played with all these goodies on my video :)
