Colorful ATCs

Hello dear friends!
This is my second share for 2Crafty Chipboard for this month.

I love making small art pieces and ATCs, they are always a perfect choice.
Even they measure only  212 by 312 inches
they provide sufficient space for many small embellishments,  believe me :)
And what would be most appropriate than chipboard pieces to use on them!

It was really a fun and quick project and I really enjoyed the process.
First I created a mixed media background with Primary Elements by ColourArte  and let it dry.
In the meantime I fuzzy cut the Circular Panel and Painted it with brown acrylic paint and a little bit of blue. I stuck them together using staplers.
Last thing to do was to glue the word stickers and the tiny Star and Heart.
I decided to leave those two little fellows natural - I don't know why, I just liked the way they looked on there as they were, with no paint at all :)

fun background technique

Hello everyone!
Today I'm hosting the ColourArte blog and sharing a fun and very easy technique on how to create a background with beautiful textures and colors!

Let's see the supplies we need for this project:

ColourArte products:
Other products:

  • ATC card
  • Finnabair  Mixed Media Silicone Brush 1"
  • stamps
  • stapler
  • paper embellishments
  • rice paper heart - handmade
  • thread
  • flowers

First I applied the Radiant Gel on the tag with the silicone brush.
Then I pressed the stamp on the gel and removed it.
It dries very quickly and the result is pretty impressive!

After that I spread some primary elements with a paintbrush here and there and sprayed water.
When it was dry I glued everything down and I was pretty much done!

I hope you got some ideas on how to create a simple but impressive mixed media background!

Have a lovely crafty day!

ATCs - Collect moments

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm hosting the Mixed Media Place!

I created these ATCs one for a friend and one for my personal collection. They are actually twins! If you look carefully you will find out that the one on the right is the upside down side of the left one... or the opposite :)

In order to create the background I placed the mini cards one next to each other and worked at the same time on both of them. First I used a circles stamp with Butter Embossing Powder and then the Scissors Stencil with the Graphite Texture Paste to create even more texture.

When the texture paste was dry I used three different shades of silks to paint the cards all over their surface. Silks are very shiny paints, you can see it on how all the pictures glow! The embossing powder resists the silks, but the Graphite sucks it! Ι love how the scissors turned out, with this double shaded color!

Next step was to glue everything down. As ATCs are very small cards, I used only a few embellishments, like small scraps and labels from the 7Dots Studio Soulmates Collection, 2Crafty Chipboard arrows (I painted black with Winter Ice silk), a couple of eyelets, bubble stickers and thread.

Then, I used the Soft Gloss Gel to glue some Glitter and Micro Beads on the big circles. It drys clear and I love the effect!!!

Last thing to do was to paint here and there with three shades of H2Os Watercolors and also make some splashes with them. And that was all!

I hope you got some inspiration on how to give shiny effect on your projects!

'Peace on Earth' ATCs

Ηappy December everyone!
Christmas is getting close and Ι'm already in Xmas mood :)
I created two ATCs for Scraps N Pieces.

For your inspiration we have a Christmas moodbard, with earth colors and lots of sweets :)
You can create any kind of project, as long as you tell us what inspired you by this moodboard (colors, sweets, cookies, stars, Santa, etc). Your project doesn't have to be Christmas themed.

ATC (artist trading cards) are small cards, measured only 2,5x3,5 inches.
For the background I decoupaged a Christmas napkin with mistletoe and used Finnabair products like stencil, stamps,  Mica Powders, Soft Matte Gel, Micro Beads, Mica Flakes and glitter.

For the angels I made a simple draw on card board, cut it with scissors, glued it on a pattered paper and cut it again with scissors. I distressed the angels with my scissors to make them look like vintage. I used gold wire to make the wings and gold thread with a Finnabair star brad to decorate it.

I wrote the title on the angels with a permanent pen, made some doodling with white pen Uni-ball and some splashes with white gesso.
The hole process was carried simultaneously on both cards.

Xmas ATCs

Hello, hello!
Today I'm sharing my first Christmas project for this year
for Mixed Media Place Creative Gym!

This month challenge is host by our amazing and talented Tusia!
Create a Xmas card, tag or ATC (only small forms are allowed).

I wanted to make some Christmas ATCs  for 6 special scrappy friends of mine and this challenge was the great opportunity to make the decision and get started working!

I had these craft chipboards in my stash for a long time waiting for the right moment to transform into art pieces. They are only 2,5x3,5" and that was a challenge for me to work with so small areas.
I used papers, tags and stickers from the 7 Dots Studio Yuletide collection, a Christmas collection perfect for seasonal projects.

I placed all six of them on my craft desk and started working. First I used gold and red embossing powder with stamps to create a beautiful base to work on it.

Then I glued all the embellishments and worked with H2Os watercolors and a paintbrush on several spots.  I also painted the chipboard pieces and the flowers with them.

Last thing to do was to make a shiny glue with 3D Gloss Gel and gold glitter. 3D Gloss Gel dries clear, so I wanted a little bit of sparkle to be shown on the finished project, that's why I added the gold glitter. I used it to glue some Art Ingredients like gold Glass Glitter and ruby Glass Beads, pretty Christmas colors, don't you think? :)

So, will you play with us at Mixed Media Place?
I can't wait to see your small form projects!

Thank you for visiting,

have a lovely crafty day!
