Bunny in a hat *with video

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm sharing my new project I created for Finnabair Creative Team!

This is the second card I'm altering from a card set I got from Ikea a long time ago.
I had so much fun painting and decorating this cute bunny and I'm happy to share the whole process in a video with you.

I started with covering the background with Heavy White Gesso in order to mute it a little bit and used some Art Alchemy acrylic colors in shades that matched the card's colors: Fresh Orange, Royal Red, Steampunk Copper and Black Berry.

I also used all these beautiful colors to paint the chipboard pieces and all the metal embellishments...

I love doodling on my projects and this time I used a black permanent pen, as well a white pen.

The several stamps I used created a really messy and interesting background and helped me create even more texture with a fun technique I did on White Heavy Gesso - you can watch all these tricks in the video below.

I hope you will enjoy my video and maybe get some ideas to create your altered card!

steampunk cat

Dear friends
today we are celebrating International Scrapbooking Day!
Together Finnabair Creative Team with Prima have prepared a lot of exciting things - make sure you keep an eye on the Prima blog and all our social media!
Each lady of the Finnabair Team chose a quote on creativity that was close to our heart and created an artwork inspired by it.
I hope you will join in the fun and take part in the challenge we came up with at Finnabair Blog - scroll down to  Finnabair Blog post to check out the prize and what to do to win it!!!

My creative quote:

'It's never too late to be what you might have been'

Scrapbooking came into my life 4 years ago and today I feel so happy and honored that I can celebrate it here in this incredible team with my scrappy friends all around the world!

I chose this creative quote for my project because I think it represents all these amazing things you can do through art and consequently through scrapbooking. I love that I can be on the paper anything or anybody I desire and I can achieve that only with my pencil, paints and all these magical media :)

To create this tag I used a card I got from IKEA. There was only a cat on it with some dictionary background which I covered with Heavy White Gesso. I glued with Soft Gloss Gel all the mechanical, chipboard and paper pieces and used three different acrylic paints to color them.
I wrote the quote with black and white pen and used a stamp to give more interest to the background.

Make sure you visit the  Finnabair Blog post to see what created the rest of the Finnabair Team!
We hope you will enjoy our "conversations" about creativity in our lives..
We'd like to invite you to join in and encourage you to celebrate your creative side by taking part in our challenge. :)
Your task is to take a quote that is especially close to your heart, the one that motivates you in any way, basically any words of wisdom that move you.
Create any piece of art - it can be a layout, collage, canvas, card, anything you feel inspired to make. Feel free to interpret your chosen quote any way your Muse tells you. ;)
Then simply add your link using inlinkz tool below and then our Team will vote who the winner is.
The prize is waiting!!! I hope it will add a pinch of creativity into someone's life!

You have time till May 21st to send in your beautiful art here in this post.
Good luck and enjoy your time being creative!!!

Colorful ATCs

Hello dear friends!
This is my second share for 2Crafty Chipboard for this month.

I love making small art pieces and ATCs, they are always a perfect choice.
Even they measure only  212 by 312 inches
they provide sufficient space for many small embellishments,  believe me :)
And what would be most appropriate than chipboard pieces to use on them!

It was really a fun and quick project and I really enjoyed the process.
First I created a mixed media background with Primary Elements by ColourArte  and let it dry.
In the meantime I fuzzy cut the Circular Panel and Painted it with brown acrylic paint and a little bit of blue. I stuck them together using staplers.
Last thing to do was to glue the word stickers and the tiny Star and Heart.
I decided to leave those two little fellows natural - I don't know why, I just liked the way they looked on there as they were, with no paint at all :)

fun background technique

Hello everyone!
Today I'm hosting the ColourArte blog and sharing a fun and very easy technique on how to create a background with beautiful textures and colors!

Let's see the supplies we need for this project:

ColourArte products:
Other products:

  • ATC card
  • Finnabair  Mixed Media Silicone Brush 1"
  • stamps
  • stapler
  • paper embellishments
  • rice paper heart - handmade
  • thread
  • flowers

First I applied the Radiant Gel on the tag with the silicone brush.
Then I pressed the stamp on the gel and removed it.
It dries very quickly and the result is pretty impressive!

After that I spread some primary elements with a paintbrush here and there and sprayed water.
When it was dry I glued everything down and I was pretty much done!

I hope you got some ideas on how to create a simple but impressive mixed media background!

Have a lovely crafty day!

ATCs - Collect moments

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm hosting the Mixed Media Place!

I created these ATCs one for a friend and one for my personal collection. They are actually twins! If you look carefully you will find out that the one on the right is the upside down side of the left one... or the opposite :)

In order to create the background I placed the mini cards one next to each other and worked at the same time on both of them. First I used a circles stamp with Butter Embossing Powder and then the Scissors Stencil with the Graphite Texture Paste to create even more texture.

When the texture paste was dry I used three different shades of silks to paint the cards all over their surface. Silks are very shiny paints, you can see it on how all the pictures glow! The embossing powder resists the silks, but the Graphite sucks it! Ι love how the scissors turned out, with this double shaded color!

Next step was to glue everything down. As ATCs are very small cards, I used only a few embellishments, like small scraps and labels from the 7Dots Studio Soulmates Collection, 2Crafty Chipboard arrows (I painted black with Winter Ice silk), a couple of eyelets, bubble stickers and thread.

Then, I used the Soft Gloss Gel to glue some Glitter and Micro Beads on the big circles. It drys clear and I love the effect!!!

Last thing to do was to paint here and there with three shades of H2Os Watercolors and also make some splashes with them. And that was all!

I hope you got some inspiration on how to give shiny effect on your projects!
Have a lovely crafty day!
