'Memories' in a frame

Happy Sunday everyone!
Today I'm sharing a small project in a frame I created for my art wall
with ColourArte Silks acrylic paints.

For this project I used:
ColourArte products
Other products:
  • White Heavy Gesso
  • craft glue
  • wooden canvas sticks
  • 7Dots Studio 'Domestic Goddess' collection word sticker
  • black frame

So, let's get started.

First step was to paint the wooden sticks with the Silks. I chose some of my favorite colors in green, blue and grey shades and used a paintbrush to apply them on the sticks. They dry pretty quickly and I love how rich the colors look after they are dry!
I also painted some of the sticks with white gesso.

After they were dry I used the craft glue to glue them down randomly.

I wanted to keep it simple with a clean and clear look, so I didn't use any paint on the background.

The only thing to do after the sticks were in place, was to glue a word sticker.

That was pretty much all! I really love the finished look and that Summer feeling it gives at my wall of art :)

Thank you for visiting!

Have a lovely crafty day!

Sweetest memories

Hello Dear friends!
Today I'm sharing a canvas Ι made with the May 2015 Limited Edition Mega Set for Lindy's Stamp Gang
For this project I used all the sprays of the set, plus the Silver Moon Turquoise, Golden Angel Wings and Morning Glory Azure embossing powders.

First I added some light paste with two different stencils and then I glued all the layers of papers and the embellishments on the canvas.
After that, I had to deal with the chipboard piece 'FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS'. I used three different embossing powders: first the Silver Moon Turquoise, then the Morning Glory Azure and last the Golden Angel Wings. I really love the result, it's like real golden letters! One more thing I did, was to stamp on the embossed letters when they were still hot. You can do that only in a few seconds after the heating and the effect it gives is amazing!

Next thing to do, was to color the composition with the sprays. I sprayed with the soft colors first in several spots  and then I made only a few splashes with a paintbrush with the dark colors of the set.
I also used the Tilt A Weel TealRaspberry Lemonade and Merry Go Round Green magicals from the Under the Boardwalk set - just a tiny quantity of them in a few spots. Of course I didn't forget to make some stamps here and there as a final touch.

That was all for today.
I hope you got some inspiration and ideas - I'd love to see your projects for our color challenge!
Thank you for visiting, have a wonderful crafty time!
