Spring is coming

Today's project is for my Guest spot at SkrapKopilka.
I won a challenge with this layout on December and now I have the pleasure and honor to be a Guest Designer for their current challenge...

...with this beautiful sketch:

My page is based on the sketch: I used the tittle and all the elements it shows and I had the best time creating it. I think it really has been a long time since I created a layout in vintage style - I love vintage style!!! The decision derived from the photo, and I have to say that the photo is always my motive and inspiration, everything depends on it!

make multimedia art

Hello! Today I'm very excited to show you my first project for Mixed Media Place
I made a canvas about my two passions: music and mixed media art.

I started with sketching the trumpet: first I made a draft drawing with my pencil to use it as a template. Then I stamped with several stamps around and on it in order to create  the main design, the trumpet. Finally I did some doodling with a permanent pen to  make some final touches. It was really a fun way to create a design without actually drawing!

I also made some shades with the pencil to create depth and make it more realistic.

When I was happy with the result, I covered the design with a piece of paper and started working with the background of the main composition. My first step is always to add gesso with a stencil. After that, I made a lot of splashes with many colors of differed media like watercolors and sprays. Of course it can't be a mixed media background without stamps, and what would be more perfect for this canvas than a stamp with music score, right? I also used a stamp with flowers, that's all.

Then, I glued all the embellishments, the letters 'ART' and the word 'MAKE' on the trumpet. As a final touch, I distressed the hole canvas  with the 'Vintage Photo' distress ink.

have a lovely day!

Mixed Media Place DT

Hello everyone!
Today I'm a very happy scrapper!
I can finally share my exciting news for my new DT spot:

I can't wait to start!

baby it's cold outside

Hello dear friends!
This is my page for our February super challenge at Scraps & Pieces.

Καλό μήνα κορίτσια! Σήμερα έχουμε μια νέα πρόκληση για εσάς στο Scraps & Pieces!
Αυτή είναι η σελίδα μου...

And this is our beautiful red - white - black moodboard.
...βασισμένη φυσικά στο moodboard με αποχρώσεις κόκκινο - άσπρο - μάυρο.

I was inspired not only by the colors of the moodboard, but also by the beautiful pictures - the snow, the delicate branches with the red berries and the contrast between the warm/cozy look and Winter's cold...

With this page I'm entering the SkrapKopilka challenge with this beautiful sketch:

So, what do you think?
Will you play with us at Scraps & Pieces?
I can't wait to see your projects:)

Λοιπόν τι λέτε; Θα παίξετε μαζί μας στο Scraps & Pieces;
Περιμένω να δω τις υπέροχες δημιουργίες σας :)

simple things... and bonus video

Hello dear friends!
I'm here today to share a page I created with the Lindy's Stamp Gang February 2015 Color Challenge Mega Set:

I had a lot of fun splashing and stamping with the mists and altering the chipboard pieces (from Imaginarium Designs) with the embossing powders! I made a video just for you, I hope you will enjoy it!
But first I want to show you some closeups:

And here is my step by step video made specially for you :)

I hope you have enjoyed the process and got some inspiration.

With this page I'm entering the 7Dots Studio challenge: Appreciating the little things in life, just like a walk in the garden to cut some flowers! The paper I used is from one of my favorite collections "Messy Head".

Thank you for stopping by today!

Bloom in the winter

Hello! Today I'm hosting the Lindy's Stamp Gang blog to share a layout inspired by the February’s Color Challenge. The colors are amazing, I just love this mix of dark and bright colors! This time I decided to make a different color combination than I did with the first project and use the dark green 'Frolic in the Forest Black' with the dark pink 'Bougainvillea Fuchsia'!

I tried to keep it simple and use only a few media, in order to create a contrast between the bright photo and the background. I applied gesso with a flourish mask, and after heating it I sprayed water. Then I let the fun begin: I did a lot of splashing with the Frolic in the Forest Black in order to create this beautiful background - I love the way it looks!

When I was satisfied with the result, I glued the photo and all the embellishments. Then I used the Bougainvillea Fuchsia to make a few drops around the spots with the flowers and title.

I could not finish my project without using embossing powders. As I didn't use any chipboard pieces, I decided to spread a little bit of Razzleberry Plum and Obviously Black  here and there on the page, the embellishments and the tittle.

Well, that was all! With only a few steps you can also create a page like this. Pretty easy, don't you think?
I hope I'll see your projects for our  February Color Challenge!

For my layout I used this amazing sketch from Fairy's Challenge:

Thank you for stopping by today, have a lovely Sunday!

just drive

Hello friends!
February is here and that means that we have a new color challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang!

This is my page:

...and this is our color pallet for this month - amazing combination, don't you think?

This time I got inspired a lot by the photo, so I decided to do a page about my love for driving my car. The paper sheet I chose is quite not relative to the color pallet (as you can see :), nevertheless chosen consciously, in order to create a contrast between the color pallet, the photo and the whole composition. Of course I used the February Mega Set to create the mixed media background and alter the chipboard letters and cogs.

LSG products (from the February Mega Set):
Starburst Frozen Jack Frost spray
Starburst Pretty in Pink Pink spray
Starburst Bougainvillea Juchsia spray
Flat Fabio Caribbean Blue spray
Midnight Pewter embossing powder

So, I hope I'll see your project for our challenge soon!
Maybe you will be one of our 5 winners for a 50.00 gift to the  Lindy's Stamp Gang onlinestore!

Stay tuned - in a couple of days is coming up my second page based in the color pallet with a bonus video tutorial :)
