mini art journal | last pages

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm featuring two lovely artists in my last pages of my mini journal.
I'm so sad that this cute little happy journal has come to it's end and so happy at the same time that I managed to fill all the pages :)

In this particular quarantine period of our life, I spend more time on Pinterest than I did before and I get very excited when I find new -at least for me- artists! Sometimes I like so much their work that I try to make something similar in my journals and that makes me really happy!

For this spread I got inspired by Magaly Ohika and her amazing faces she draws with the cute house on the nose. Her style is unique and I tried to incorporate it in my style.

...

I call the last page of my mini journal 'happy end' and it really is!
I got inspired by Mary 'The Turquoise Paintbrush' and her colorful artworks.
She uses all the colors I love to use in my projects.
I created this page by not having on my mind her work but when I finished and looked at it my mind went on her. I think my page looks like her style, don't you think?

I'm off to find -or make?- a new mini journal to start.
Stay safe and creative!

Cute sad bird - Art Journal page

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm sharing a project I created inspired by Tamara Laporte (Willowing).
I'm a subscriber in her You tube channel and when I saw her tutorial I got so inspired that I went straight to my desk and made my own version of this cute fairy bird with the sad face and these amazing bright colors.
I just love it!

I tried to follow all the steps of the tutorial even though I didn't have the supplies Tamara used (watercolor pens and pencils) for this project and I think I turned out pretty well.

I used the H2Os watercolors by ColourArte I had in my stash, a black pen
and 7 Dots Studio stickers.

Thanks to this bird, I also decided to start a new Journal 30x40cm
which is the biggest journal I ever had lol.
This journal will be only for watercolor projects :)

Here is my VIDEO on how I creted this page.
I hope you will enjoy the process as much as I did.

Supplies list

Hello birds!

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm sharing a fun and cute canvas for 2Crafty Chipboard blog,
with  lots of colors and ...birds :)

I had this beautiful set of birds for some time and just waited for the great idea to come and use them.
The set contains three sizes of birds (two of each size), so I came up with a bird pyramid.

I decided to use 4 of the 6 birds, not only for the reason to keep my pyramid not too high, but also to use the particular white cardboard I had. I measured a balsa wood at the same size of the cardboard, cut it in 3 and glued it down.  I painted both of them with gesso, blue silks and brown distress stain.
Ι didn't use any stamps or stencils, as I wanted to keep the background quite and simple and focus on the birds.

To alter the birds I used silks, a little bit of gesso, stamps and a black permanent pen...

First I painted them with just a small amount of gesso very carefully, because I didn't want to cover the beautiful engraved pattern of them. Τhe white gesso helps the colors to show bright and right.
After the gesso dried, I painted them with the silks.  Then I stamped on them here and there and paint some details with a pretty thin paintbrush again with silks. Last thing to do was to draw the legs with the black permanent pen.

For the tittle I used the Script Font L/C alphas. I really like this script because of the calligraphy type - the letters abutting each other so nicely like they are handwritten.
I altered them with white crackle paint and I love how they turned out!

Spring is coming

Hello!
Today's project is for my Guest spot at SkrapKopilka.
I won a challenge with this layout on December and now I have the pleasure and honor to be a Guest Designer for their current challenge...

...with this beautiful sketch:

My page is based on the sketch: I used the tittle and all the elements it shows and I had the best time creating it. I think it really has been a long time since I created a layout in vintage style - I love vintage style!!! The decision derived from the photo, and I have to say that the photo is always my motive and inspiration, everything depends on it!

Here are some details...

some supplies I used:
Lindy's Stamp Gang - C'est la vie Cerice Flat Fabio
Lindy's Stamp Gang - South Shore Sand Flat Fabio
Ranger Ink - Tim Holtz distress ink Vintage Photo
Staz On - Jet Black
Glitz Whatnots - vintage blue
7 Dots Studio - Nature Walk stickers, tags and paper pad 6x6
Imaginarium Designs - Skeletal Feather

Happy new year everybody!
I hope the new year will be full of health , happiness and creativity for all of us !
So, this year has started full of creativity and appetite for changes : Now that I spend many hours at home taking care of my baby boy , in an effort to change the daily routine and avoid acute boredom , I constantly change the house decoration - if I could move and furniture I would , but unfortunately the house space and layout does not allow me to.
This wreath is for the fireplace , which has a very narrow horizontal surface for decorative stuff
(only 10cm ) and generally is quite hard to fill , so I got the idea of a wreath .

The fabric elements are made by me ( bird, house , hearts ), the red knitted you see in birdie, the little house and the knitted flowers were made by a knitting machine my daughter got for Christmas , the spools, the key and hearts garland were bought from a local shop, the tree is made of clay pulp. Also if you notice I've done some stamps - the first scrapbooking attempt since a year ago. Luckily enough, my inks did not dry!
Within the week I will rearrange my working bench, so hopefully the next post will be about scrapbooking - I've already have something in my mind :)
That's all for today!
