need you around

 Hello dear friends!
Today I'm guest designing for Berry 71 Blue!
Kay Fatula created an amazing moodboard as a tribute to motherhood...

I have to admit that I fell in love with this amazing moodboard. I got inspired not only by the neutral earth colors but also by the motherhood theme which touched me deeply as being a mum of two children is the most important thing in my life.

So I decided to make a canvas:

For this project I used three shades of Lindy's Gang Stamp sprays and embossing powders (on the chipboard pieces): grey, beige and gold to match the color combo of the photo and the moodboard. I also used black watercolor on some spots to create a little bit of contrast. I chose only a few embellishments because I wanted to focus on the photo and the background, which is created with stamps, a stencil and the above colors. The paper, sticker and chipboard I used are from 7 Dots Studio 'Soulmates' collection.

You can see more detail at Berry 71 Blue's post :)

Thank you for visiting,
have a lovely crafty time!

searching for the meaning

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm sharing a canvas Ι made for Lindy's Stamp Gang

For this project I used all the sprays of the set, plus the Cosmic Pink Blue and Queen Sheba's Silver embossing powders.
In order to create a mixed media background I decided to do something different that usual: I put away my stencils and used a stamp with the two shades of embossing powders. I really love this bright effect and I'm deferentially satisfied with the result!
Of course I did a lot of painting and splashing with the sprays and had fan :)

I also prepared a video for you with the process!

Here are some shots of the details...

...and here is the video:

I hope you enjoyed today's project and got some ideas!
Have a lovely crafty time!

altered globe

Hello everyone!
Today I'm guest designing for ASSORTI with an amazing traveling challenge:
Displaying assorti5-15.png

I decided to do something different  than usual, an altered globe! I got so much inspired by the photo of the challenge with this small cute globe, that my mind went straight to a small globe I already had bought a while ago.

Ι didn't want to change it entirely because I really love the earth colors and ocean blue, so I just used different alphas (some of them are turned into black with LSG embossing powder)
to write my sentence on the globe and on the car and gold acrylic to paint the black base stand.  I also glued a button on the top of the base stand...

For the wood veneer car, I used a Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powder to turn it into black and two different buttons for wheels. I also used some gold wire to place the car on the globe.
That's all!

making beautiful thoughts

Hello everyone!
Today I have a new challenge for you at Mixed Media Place!

DRAWING !

Whether you're already addicted to drawing or a complete beginner - join us this month!
Don't feel obliged or pressured to create a masterpiece, your sketches or simple exercises are most welcome, too! Simply feel the joy of holding a crayon in your hand. :)

I love drawing on my projects! I do it every time I make a layout or a canvas and that's how I got the idea to make a challenge with this theme. In this project I wanted to show you some ideas how to draw on your pages in a very easy way.

I wanted to make sure that my focus is on the drawing work, I decided to use only my permanent black pen, some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays, the  'Blue Grass' from Primary Elements, Copper Mica Powder with the Light Paste, two stamps, some wire and chipboard letters for the tittle. So, no embellishments at all and I like it!

First I did some doodling on a photo of mine and wrote some words on my blouse. I also made a few simple lines on the paper to expand the photo. Then I started stamping with the Peeled Paint stamp on top and over my head (because that's the spot where my thoughts come of :)

To create my flowers, firstly I made some splashes with the sprays and then I drew the lines with the permanent pen abstractedly, without much thinking. The stalks of the flowers are drawn with the plastic hose of the sprays - that's pretty easy and fun thing to do! Finally I made some doodling with the same pen, not complex things, just some sloppy circles.

I hope I have encouraged you to do some drawing :)
I can't wait to see your projects for the drawing challenge

love bugs

Hello everyone!
Today I want to share a canvas I created about love bugs for Mixed Media Place
I really like bugs, I think they are very cute and I love... love! So, my thought was to combine these two ideas in one project:

For this canvas I used quite a few embellishments, actually one chipboard piece and two die cuts from the 7 Dots Studio Soulmates collection!
In order to create the background of the composition, I used the light paste with Finnabair's 'Weaving' stencil and some Lindy's Stamps Gang sprays in color shades that match the photo's colors. I also did some stamping with several stamps here and there...

To create the clusters I used the wooden sticks which come with the canvas - I haven't figured out yet how am I supposed to use them, so I had this idea to glue them on the canvas :) I also glued on them some torn tiny pieces of old pages and little pieces of canvas paper and used some gold thread.

One thing I enjoyed was cutting out the bug. I printed the same photo twice and glue the bug on the second photo. I really like this effect - it's like a real one standing on the photo and looking at it's fellow! :)

For the tittle I used one of the 7 Dots Studio dies. As I didn't have any frame, I decided to make one of my own with gold wire. I wrapped some of it around the sticker and glued it down... I love the result and definitely am going to do it again in another project!

As a final touch, I used my favorite ever 'Blue Grass' from Primary Elements on some spots to highlight them.

***You can find all the supplies used on this project at Mixed Media Place store

Sweetest memories

Hello Dear friends!
Today I'm sharing a canvas Ι made with the May 2015 Limited Edition Mega Set for Lindy's Stamp Gang
For this project I used all the sprays of the set, plus the Silver Moon Turquoise, Golden Angel Wings and Morning Glory Azure embossing powders.

First I added some light paste with two different stencils and then I glued all the layers of papers and the embellishments on the canvas.
After that, I had to deal with the chipboard piece 'FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS'. I used three different embossing powders: first the Silver Moon Turquoise, then the Morning Glory Azure and last the Golden Angel Wings. I really love the result, it's like real golden letters! One more thing I did, was to stamp on the embossed letters when they were still hot. You can do that only in a few seconds after the heating and the effect it gives is amazing!

Next thing to do, was to color the composition with the sprays. I sprayed with the soft colors first in several spots  and then I made only a few splashes with a paintbrush with the dark colors of the set.
I also used the Tilt A Weel TealRaspberry Lemonade and Merry Go Round Green magicals from the Under the Boardwalk set - just a tiny quantity of them in a few spots. Of course I didn't forget to make some stamps here and there as a final touch.

That was all for today.
I hope you got some inspiration and ideas - I'd love to see your projects for our color challenge!
Thank you for visiting, have a wonderful crafty time!

You make everything better

 Hello dear friends!
This is my take on the amazing challenge we have at Scraps N Pieces for May.

This month's moodboard created by my dear and talented friend Valia Katzaki
is absolutely gorgeous!

The teal and gold combination is amazing!
I had a lot of fun creating my project with Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays in these color shades
and gold thread.
I also used the 'Soul Mates' 7 Dots Studio paper collection
and Prima Finnabair's stencil and stamps.
