Snow Angels - Finnabair Art Recipe

Dear friends
The new Finnabair Art Recipe for Prima blog is here to inspire you.
Can you guess the art ingredients? :p

Snowflake Paste + Mica Powders + shimmery Glitter

 Art recip 12 2016

Snowflake Paste is perfect for creating dimension on your projects.
It has a snowy white, subtly sparkly finish when it dries, and it makes the perfect base for adding Mica Powders and Glitter!

Snowflake paste is the perfect product for me to use in wintery and Christmas projects. In this project, I used it in three different ways:

1. After covering the tag (recycled Mechanicals package) with Black Gesso, I used the Stars Stencil with the Snowflake Paste and the Silicon 1' Brush. When it was dry, I covered the stars with Black Gesso. I absolutely love the texture it adds to the project!

2. My next step was to glue all the embellishments with 3D Gel. I used the Snowflake Paste again to paint the large chipboard snowflake. Apart from the white shade, it added a beautiful sparkle to the chipboard piece.

3. When I was done painting the background with the Mica Powders (pale Silver, Rust, Frozen Lake and Tangerine), I used the Snowflake paste here and there with a paintbrush to add a real snow effect to my project. As the final touch, I added some glitter from the Ebony & Ivory set to the veil of the vintage girls with the Soft Matte Gel. I also attached a cute tassel I found in the Mechanicals Tassel set with a small Jump Ring.

Hold on Time - art journal page

Hello dear friends!
This is my new journal page I created for Finnabair CT.

I was keeping the canvas sheet of my Denim Journal since I had the journal and I was waiting for the big idea to come - maybe something special or even better - something different that usual...
Even though it has been a really long time since I created something in vintage style, I wasn't going for this style. I had in mind something colorful, as always, but during the process I decided to keep it in natural shades.

I started with cutting and tearing the canvas sheet and when I was done with the destroying procedure  -lol- I used the Sculpture Medium to secure the torn pieces.
Here is how it looked before I added all the mediums and embellishments.

When it was dry I used two shades of homemade sprays with Mica Powders, Rust and Purple, and sprayed them all over the page.

Then I cut a sheet of watercolor paper in the same size as the canvas sheet as I needed to cover the whole space under the holes.
I used Modeling paste with the Lace stencil to create texture and stamps with black ink.

To embellish my journal page I used a vintage photo from the Ephemera - Vintage Collectibles, a Mechanical Flower, Copper and Bronze Micro Beads, wire, Art Stones and Mini art stones, Screw Brads, Melange Pebbles, wire and a couple of chipboard pieces. I glued everything with 3D Matte Gel.

To paint my journal I used two shades of Art Alchemy Opal Magic Paints: Rose Gold and Violet Gold.
I also used the Rust Pastes on the metal embellishments to make the project look even more vintage.

Finnaly I used the Black Gesso to paint the chipboard tittle and made some splashes here and there to add a little bit of contrast.

Here is my video with all the process. I hope you will enjoy it :)

tiny canvas #2

Happy Sunday!
Today I’m sharing a tiny canvas I created for ColourArte. It’s really a quick and easy project to do, it only took a few minutes to paint it!
To create this project I used:
ColourArte products
Other products:
  • small canvas 8×7 cm
  • Finnabair Black Gesso
  • Finnabair white crackle paste
  • Finnabair white sand paste
  • Metal embellishments
  • chipboard embellishment (for the roof)
  • wire
  • screws
  • word sticker (7 Dots Studio - Domestic Goddess)
  • package card stock
  • craft glue
First I cut the package chipboard in a house shape and glued it on the back side of the canvas. Then I covered everything with Black Gesso. When it was dry I applied the two texture pastes (crackle and sand paste) here and there. I placed the chipboard and metal embellishments in the wet pastes (they work as a glue) and left it dry naturally for 5 hours.
After it was dry I spread with a dry paintbrush the three colors of the Primary Elements here and there. I sprayed with water and dried it with a heat gun. Then I applied a thin coat of Clear Glazewith a paintbrush to make the Primary Elements permanent.
Next step was to highlight some spots with the Vintage Mint. I applied it with a dry paintbrush here and there. I really love this color because it gives a vintage touch at the project.

Last step of the painting process was to make some splashes with the Siam White H2O. You have to spray some water in the jar to activate the color and wait for a couple of minutes. Then your color is ready to use.

At the end I added two screws and twisted the wire in order to create a hanger for the little canvas. I also glued a sticker with my tittle: ‘Unknown’.
Here are some more closeups…

This is the first tiny canvas I created,
you can see it in this post

steampunk cat

Dear friends
today we are celebrating International Scrapbooking Day!
Together Finnabair Creative Team with Prima have prepared a lot of exciting things - make sure you keep an eye on the Prima blog and all our social media!
Each lady of the Finnabair Team chose a quote on creativity that was close to our heart and created an artwork inspired by it.
I hope you will join in the fun and take part in the challenge we came up with at Finnabair Blog - scroll down to  Finnabair Blog post to check out the prize and what to do to win it!!!

My creative quote:

'It's never too late to be what you might have been'

Scrapbooking came into my life 4 years ago and today I feel so happy and honored that I can celebrate it here in this incredible team with my scrappy friends all around the world!

I chose this creative quote for my project because I think it represents all these amazing things you can do through art and consequently through scrapbooking. I love that I can be on the paper anything or anybody I desire and I can achieve that only with my pencil, paints and all these magical media :)

To create this tag I used a card I got from IKEA. There was only a cat on it with some dictionary background which I covered with Heavy White Gesso. I glued with Soft Gloss Gel all the mechanical, chipboard and paper pieces and used three different acrylic paints to color them.
I wrote the quote with black and white pen and used a stamp to give more interest to the background.

We'd like to invite you to join in and encourage you to celebrate your creative side by taking part in our challenge. :)
Your task is to take a quote that is especially close to your heart, the one that motivates you in any way, basically any words of wisdom that move you.
Create any piece of art - it can be a layout, collage, canvas, card, anything you feel inspired to make. Feel free to interpret your chosen quote any way your Muse tells you. ;)
Then simply add your link using inlinkz tool below and then our Team will vote who the winner is.
The prize is waiting!!! I hope it will add a pinch of creativity into someone's life!

You have time till May 21st to send in your beautiful art here in this post.
Good luck and enjoy your time being creative!!!

A Fork In The Road - art journal page *with video

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm Hosting the Finnabair blog with an art journal page.

Life is full of forks in the road filled with the need to make new decisions. That’s what makes life so interesting and that's what today's page is about.
The whole project is based in the center of a chipboard piece, which is the focal point where all the possible choices begin. Τhe end of each wire leads to a different option and all together are twisted together back in the center where all began.

I wanted to keep it muted, not too colorful, so I chose the Metallique Acrylic Paint - Black Berry ( I so love this color!!! ) with a little bit of Vintage Rose and Light Patina.
I also used a tiny amount of Rust Mica Powder, as well some of the Frozen Lake Mica powder here and there. I love how they blend together all the different textures.

For the background I used the Alpha Stencil as well some beautiful background stamps.
To add more texture I used two different Art Ingredients: Bronze Micro Beads and Black Mica Flakes. And for the tittle I used a sticker from the 7Dots Studio Nature Walk collection.

I like using wire in my projects and this time I had so much fun twisting different pieces, securing them with the stapler, I even created a tiny fork with it. I used the 3D Gloss Gel to glue it down and a Mini Hardware screw to decorate it - it looks so cute!

So here is my video with the whole process, I hope you will enjoy it :)

Thank you for visiting,
have a lovely crafty weekend!
