Thoughts of a day | art journaling

 Hello dear friends!

Today I'm sharing an art journal page I created last night.

I was playing with my watercolors creating abstract shapes and shades.

It was so fun and relaxing not thinking what to do... just painting.

When my page was dry I looked at the shapes and let my imagination fly.

I started doodling with only a black pen and here is the result!

All these beautiful designs appeared in front of me, coming of nowhere.
What an unexpected surprise really!
At the end I added a piece of thread to connect the mother with daughter.

List of supplies (really short:)

watercolors
black pen
watercolor paper
a piece of thread

'Escape' canvas *with video

Hello scrappy friends!
Displaying MTW-201604.jpgI feel very honored to be a guest designer at More Than Words challenge blog!
Thank you so much for the invitation, I really appreciate it!

I created a canvas inspired by the lovely April moodboard and used the word 'escape' as the challenge required...

I got inspired not only by the beautiful colors of the moodboard, but also the flowers and the black and white tree and tried to incorporate all these elements on my project.
Displaying MTW-201604.jpg I therefor used flowers in many colors, a chipboard tree which I painted black and white, wooded sticks, as well a keyhole, out of which all the flowers 'Escape'...  I love how they peek through the rusty metal keyhole, as to represent the beauty of  nature escaping from an enclosed secret garden.

...and of course I made especially for MTW fans a video
on how I used many mixed media techniques on my canvas to make the background crackle and shimmer, layers upon layers of different colors and products to add depth and texture.

I hope you will enjoy it :)

Here are some details

making beautiful thoughts

Hello everyone!
Today I have a new challenge for you at Mixed Media Place!

DRAWING !

Whether you're already addicted to drawing or a complete beginner - join us this month!
Don't feel obliged or pressured to create a masterpiece, your sketches or simple exercises are most welcome, too! Simply feel the joy of holding a crayon in your hand. :)

I love drawing on my projects! I do it every time I make a layout or a canvas and that's how I got the idea to make a challenge with this theme. In this project I wanted to show you some ideas how to draw on your pages in a very easy way.

I wanted to make sure that my focus is on the drawing work, I decided to use only my permanent black pen, some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays, the  'Blue Grass' from Primary Elements, Copper Mica Powder with the Light Paste, two stamps, some wire and chipboard letters for the tittle. So, no embellishments at all and I like it!

First I did some doodling on a photo of mine and wrote some words on my blouse. I also made a few simple lines on the paper to expand the photo. Then I started stamping with the Peeled Paint stamp on top and over my head (because that's the spot where my thoughts come of :)

To create my flowers, firstly I made some splashes with the sprays and then I drew the lines with the permanent pen abstractedly, without much thinking. The stalks of the flowers are drawn with the plastic hose of the sprays - that's pretty easy and fun thing to do! Finally I made some doodling with the same pen, not complex things, just some sloppy circles.

I hope I have encouraged you to do some drawing :)
I can't wait to see your projects for the drawing challenge

love your life

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm sharing a small canvas I created for Mixed Media Place. I wanted to make something colorful and happy, so I decided to create a hand-drawn sketch of a typewriter full of flowers and butterflies!

To create this project, first I used a permanent pen and some prima stamps to make the sketch of the typewriter. Then I cut with scissors some beautiful patterns and a lot of butterflies from a prima paper and glued them here and there to make a collage.

After that, I used the Finn's stencil 'Weaving' with the light paste to create some interest on the background and applied some 'Vintage Photo' distress ink all over the canvas.

Then, it was time to focus on the composition. I used the Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays to color the dawned buttons of the typewriter and some gesso with water to color the black paper around them.
After some more stamping, I started to glue all the flowers, butterflies and other embellishments. As a final touch I used the watercolors and the LSG sprays to color here and there and make some splashes.

One more thing I did and had a lot of fun with, was putting some wire around the Prima bulb and using the same wire to hang some sticker letters on it in order to create the dimensional tittle. I really love how it turned out!

Color your world #2

 Hello dear friends!
Today I'm sharsharing the second project for the April color challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang. I decided for this month to create three projects with the same title 'color your world', because of the pallet with all these beautiful and bright colors!
So this is my #2 (you can see #1 project here).
For this project I used a very colorful photo I found on Web and the April 2015 Color Challenge MEGA Set.

First I applied some light paste with a mask and spread some Sunset Yellow embossing powder directly on it - believe me, it works perfectly that way! After heating it with the heat gun, I repeated the same process with another mask and the Tilt A Wheel Teal embossing powder and heated it again. Then, I made some splashes with all the sprays, I stamped a few stamps and that was all for the background!

I also used one of the sprays, the Magnolia Magneta Gold,  to watercolor the stamped flowers with a paint brush. It is really a pretty easy and fun way to use the sprays and believe me, you will love the result!

One other fun thing I did, was to draw with a permanent pen some funky flowers around the tiny spots of the splashes. I love how they turned!

I also draw some leaves on the top and the bottom of the page, which I panted with the Oakleaf Olive spray...

Now let me tell you how I created the tittle. I used all the embossing powders of the set on the chipboard letters: while I was holding the chipboard letter with a nipper I poured some powder on the upper half and another color on the lower half. I dried it with the heat gun and at the end I did some doodling with the permanent pen. Really fun process, don't you think?
