life is a balance...

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm very excited because I can share my first DT page for Scrap Around The World!
Our challenge for January is  hosted by Karita Vainio and she created a beautiful moodboard with an amazing quote:
'life is a balance of holding on and letting go'.
I was really inspired by those words and created this page:

...and this is our gorgeour moodboard:

I tried to include all the elements of the moodboard on my page, so you can see frames, keys (actually I used a stencil with keys), flowers, a clock, blue - pink and a bit of green shades and the quote written with chipboard letters. In order to give a vintage and shabby chic style I altered the letters and painted them with crackle, rusty green and blue  paint...

I hope you got some inspiration,
I can't wait to see your creations for our challenge

'summer fun' mini album

Hello everyone!
Today I have for you a mini album with a little tutorial!

It is that time of the month, where we launch our new challenge at Scrap Africa, a super themed challenge for the next two weeks:
Challenge: Tell us about your travel adventures...perhaps your favourite location, or the most memorable trip...anything related to travel. Please include journalling, even if hidden and tell us where it is.
Here are some quotes that you could possibly use as inspiration.

I decided to create a mini this time. I'm still on vacation and my scrappy bag has only a few supplies, so I had to deal only with those: Studio Calico PRINTSHOP paper pad, Studio Calico 'Sundrifter' die cuts, a pen, scissors and glue, a Maya Road paper clip and a couple of washi tapes. That's all!
And now some instructions how to make this super easy mini, only with one paper sheet. I hope all these photos make sense and help you to create your own mini :)

First you have to cut your paper in half horizontally, then score it in thirds (I didn't have a score board, so I scored mine approximately, but if you have one it will be a piece of cake :)
This is how they should look folded...

Now you have to glue all the white sides together, only where indicated (NOT the upper edge, because we want to create a pocket).

After you glue all the white sides together you will have this result...

...and this is my cover before I make the decoration...

 ...and after the decoration...

I promise I'll show you the inside finished after it's done and I'll do that when I'll get back home from vacation :)

That's all for today, I hope you liked my little tutorial and make your own minis!

my recipe challenge!

Hello everyone! Today it is my turn to host the Friday challenge at Frosted Designs! After a lot of thinking I decided to go with three of my favorite things I use for my creations, so here is my recipe challenge:

You have to include on your project at least one from each 'ingredients' or more, whatever you like!
For my page I used a lot of stamps as always, because I like to blend the patterns of them to create my own background on the paper. I colored some stamped flowers with my gelatos - I love the watercolor effect they make! I used one mask again with the gelatos and then I highlighted some spots with my pen. Finally I used the Maya Road bicycle paperclip which I think is very cute, some decorative pins, a couple of Petaloo flowers and buttons. The paper is from the Studio Calico Printshop collection and I absolutely love the pattern!
I hope you like the recipe and I can't wait to see your creations with these three 'ingredients' :)

just beautiful...

Hello scrappy friends!
Today I'm sharing a layout I made just for fun :)

A few days ago my daughter had her school summer event, where she had to impersonate 'the girl with the starfish'. I made her a yellow wreath for the head and attached some starfishes. The photos we took were amazing, she was so beautiful and shinny and happy...!

So, when I saw the mood board at Scrap Around The World I knew that I had to scrap with these photos. I got inspired from the amazing color combination, as well as from the summer mood these photos get you into. And I think my photos are a perfect match for this, don't you think?

With this page I 'm also joining the challenge of 7 Dots Studio which requests stamping. Well, as you can see I made a lot of it, as usual... :)

So, this is my take on these two challenges.
I hope you like it and get some ideas :)

Wreath: new look

Μήπως σας θυμίζει κάτι αυτό το στεφάνι;

Hello!
Do you remember a wreath I made a few months ago?
Well, I decided to alter it and give it a new look (this is my post with the old wreath). This is how it looked like before:

The new wreath is quite different, although I kept all the elements untouched at the bottom line. I made three houses with balsa wood and decorated them with Bo Bunny paper, some stamps, fabric remnants and buttons.  Then I got some thin (for jewelry) wire and twisted it around a toothpick to make a spiral effect for the chimneys. At the end I attached the Studio Calico birds to the wire and that's it!

I hope you like the new look!

Remember Always

Hello everyone!
Today is Scrap Africa's new challenge reveal and the sketch is absolutely gorgeous!!

When I saw Denise's sketch it came straight in my mind this photo, which I have found in an old album at my parent's house. This album belonged to my beloved grandma who died at the age of 94 (I can' t believe that 11 years have past since then) and is full of original vintage photos of her life.  She was born at 1909- you can imagine how old are they, they will not even need to be distressed! Now all these photos (and there are a lot of them) are in my hands and I' m going to make an album for them... Well, these are my first two pages and there are going to be a lot more of them :)

To the sketch now: I think it can be interpreted in so many ways not only because it is beautifully designed, but also because it has this 60's vibe going on there, which I absolutely adore. So whatever your style is, it would be a perfect base to work with. I can' t wait to see what you will come up with it!

some materials used on this page:
Prima: resist flower, washi tape, stamps
Teresa Collins stencil
Papertray Ink Clip Tips stamp
mists, inks, gesso, paper punches, pages from an old book, clothes tag, safety pin, pearl, grandma' s buttons...

"Happy Birthday" mini album

Hello! This is a mini album I made for my daughter' s 5th birthday. She wanted to help me, so I let her to choose the embellishments and stickers and I just made some stamps on them :) I wanted to keep it simple, so I put away my masks and jesso (I think it is the first time I did scrapping without gesso, lol). The papers and stickers I used are from Echo Park's collections 'Hello Summer' and 'Country Drive' and the pink flower is handmade from Maya Road burlap ribbon. The little cupcakes you see scattered on the pages are the leftovers from the flags I used at the top of the cakes.

Here are some pages from the album...

I finally found a small pouch in my stash that is a perfect fit for storing this mini album and also the birthday candle, don't you think?
