Today I'm hosting the Finnabair blog with a new page in my super mini art journal
and comes with a VIDEO showing the whole process :)
Here in Greece we are in the middle of the Summertime and I'm really in a relaxed summery 'fishy' bluish mood! ;) You can tell from all my last art journal pages... :)
Today I want to share with you my last art journal page I created with lots of textures, blue shades and doodling.
I had so much fun creating this page, I hope you will enjoy the process in my video below :)
To create an interesting background I glued with the Soft Matte Gel some pieces from the Ephemera Melangepackage and other scraps I had in my stash.
Then I painted the whole surface with a thin coat of Heavy White Gesso as I didn't want to cover the patterns completely.
I used the 3D Gloss Gel to glue the embellishments I wanted to use, like the chipboard pieces, thread and Art Stones.
I also used the Mechanicals Screws and Stars Brads to secure the chipboard gear and the tag with the quote I wrote by hand.
I think they look so cute, especially the tag as thanks to the brad, you can turn it upwords every time you want to read the quote and then you can turn it downwards to store the mini journal.
I simply applied the Impasto Paints with the Silicone Brush and then with the silicone texture tool from the other side of the brush, I created the waves.
You will see how easy and fun this technique is in my video below.
To add some more color and interest, I spread some Mica Powders here and there; I used Rust, Gold and Bluefrom the Mica Powder Set.
Here is my video, I hope you will feel inspired and get into a summer mood just like I did!

I really love that I can add more and more pages in there and they can be worked out of the journal - it makes my job easier!
For my page I used watercolor paper which I cut to Denim's size. I incorporated the two things I enjoy most having on my journal pages: butterflies and circles.
The circles are the leftovers from a chipboard board I had in my stash and I used my favorite shades of Art Alchemy Acrylic Paints to color them.
In order to create a mixed media background I used Heavy White Gesso with stamps to create texture (you will see this technique in my video below) and Modeling Paste with the Honeycomb Stencil. I also used some clear stamps with black Archival Ink.
The butterfly is handmade and I love this tiny Star Brad I used to decorate it, it's so cute!
For my quote I used a die cut element from the 7Dots Studio Verano Azul collection, as well a sticker with a big star to embellish my page with some black thread.
Last thing to do was to glue three Melange Art Pebbles to add more interest to my page. Luckily I found in the jar the perfect size of pebble to fit the chipboard circles. I love how they look in there!
In the video I made especially for you, you can watch how I put together this journal page.

I hope you got some inspiration from toady's project and create your own page in your Denim Journal!
Today I'm hosting the Finnabair blog with a page in my Denim Journal.
I loved this photo the moment I found it on Pinterest and of course I wanted to make a page with it in my new Denim Journal :)
I used only a few media like the Light Paste,(I adore the beautiful texture it creates), Black Gesso and Mica Powders.
In order to start building my page and create the main cluster I used a chipboard leftover.
I always keep these goodies, for me they are the best pieces to give more interest to my pages.
I applied some Light Paste here and there on the chipboard too, to help the beautiful colors of the Mica Powders stick on there.
To decorate my page I used some cute brads (stars and screws) to secure the ends of the wire and 7Dots Studio stickers. I also used my stapler on the photo, stickers and wire.
To give more interest to the background I used some stamps here and there and made splashes with the Black Heavy Gesso.
I share all the details and the whole process in my video, I hope you will enjoy it :)

Today I'm hosting the Finnabair blog with a new page at my black journal.
I hadn't played in my black journal for a while, so I thought it was the right time to create a new page and share with you the process in a video I made especially for you.
I used some acrylic paints as well the White Crackle Paste and had so much fun playing with Modeling Paste and the new texture brushes creating patterns and textures over and over again.
To add even more interest to the textures on my page I added Art Stones and Mini Art stones, which turned to be my favorite supply - they are so perfect for every kind of mixed media art!
When I was done with the background, I decided to add something metal on my project and I used one of the Mechanical Hearts. I really love it because it looks already vintage and rusted, so I kept it as it was! I only added some of the Rust Pastes here and there to give to the page a more vintage look.
I hope you will enjoy my process and get some new ideas on how to play with Texture Pastes and Texture Brushes.
