Snow Angels - Finnabair Art Recipe

Dear friends
The new Finnabair Art Recipe for Prima blog is here to inspire you.
Can you guess the art ingredients? :p

Snowflake Paste + Mica Powders + shimmery Glitter

 Art recip 12 2016

Snowflake Paste is perfect for creating dimension on your projects.
It has a snowy white, subtly sparkly finish when it dries, and it makes the perfect base for adding Mica Powders and Glitter!

Snowflake paste is the perfect product for me to use in wintery and Christmas projects. In this project, I used it in three different ways:

1. After covering the tag (recycled Mechanicals package) with Black Gesso, I used the Stars Stencil with the Snowflake Paste and the Silicon 1' Brush. When it was dry, I covered the stars with Black Gesso. I absolutely love the texture it adds to the project!

2. My next step was to glue all the embellishments with 3D Gel. I used the Snowflake Paste again to paint the large chipboard snowflake. Apart from the white shade, it added a beautiful sparkle to the chipboard piece.

3. When I was done painting the background with the Mica Powders (pale Silver, Rust, Frozen Lake and Tangerine), I used the Snowflake paste here and there with a paintbrush to add a real snow effect to my project. As the final touch, I added some glitter from the Ebony & Ivory set to the veil of the vintage girls with the Soft Matte Gel. I also attached a cute tassel I found in the Mechanicals Tassel set with a small Jump Ring.

For more inspiration you can visit the Prima blog post to see
what the rest of the Finnabair Team created.

Art in a frame

Happy Sunday dear friends!
Today I'm hosting the ColourArte blog
and sharing a small project in a frame I created for my art wall.
I used only a few supplies and with only three steps I ended with a beautiful art piece.
For my project I used:

ColourArte products
Other products:
  • White Heavy Gesso
  • 3D Gloss Gel
  • wire
  • Art Stones
  • Metal Butterfly
  • black plastic grass

Step 1. I applied with a sponge a little bit of gesso all over the surface, particularly on the spot I wanted to be the circle with the butterfly.

Step 2. I glued everything down with 3D Gloss Gel and let it dry.

Step 3. I used my favorite colors of Silks to paint the embellishments.
I sprayed some water here and there to make to paint more fluid.
I also made some splashes with the Black Ice Silk.

And that was it!
Pretty easy and quick, don't you think?
Of course it's already hanging on my wall :)

Tiny canvas 'LOVE'

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm sharing a tiny canvas I created for 2 Crafty Chipboard
for a friend of mine as a present.

It only measures 8x7 cm and I really love how small and cute it looks.
Even thought it is so small I managed to use 7 chipboard pieces and 2 metal pieces  to create a dimensional cluster like a pyramid!
This is how it looked before I altered the chipboards and paint it all.

In order to alter the chipboard pieces I used H2Os watercolors and silks by ColourArte and black embossing powder by Lindy's Stamp Gang.

First I created a mixed media background and then I started gluing all the embellishments with 3D Gloss Gel.

I really love how this tine mixed media pyramid looks!
Here are some closeups with details...

The sound of silence

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm sharing my second project for this month I created for  2Crafty Chipboard blog.

'The music is not in the notes, but in the silence between' - W.A.Mozart
This is an amazing quote I always have in mind when I'm playing the piano.
As a musician I love making projects about music, so I decided to make one with this favorite quote of mine.

For my page I used the word "love" as the main title, which I cut from the love border.
I really like the calligraphy style of it and I think it has the perfect size for the tittle.
I altered it with black embossing powder and placed it vertically to much the whole vertically flow of the page.

I also used some pieces from the 6x6 'Moroccan Panel' in order to give texture and interest to the background. I absolutely love this design. It matches with any kind of style and it is very easy to cut it in pieces and use them on your projects. I used black and white gesso and silks to alter them.

This big key from the 'Vintage Keys' set was the perfect embellishment to complete my composition, because it represents the key of perfection in what has to do with music.
I painted it with African Jade silk, my favorite color, and a little bit of black and white gesso.

***silks and primary elements by ColourArte
***embossing powders by Lindy's Stamp Gang

making beautiful thoughts

Hello everyone!
Today I have a new challenge for you at Mixed Media Place!

DRAWING !

Whether you're already addicted to drawing or a complete beginner - join us this month!
Don't feel obliged or pressured to create a masterpiece, your sketches or simple exercises are most welcome, too! Simply feel the joy of holding a crayon in your hand. :)

I love drawing on my projects! I do it every time I make a layout or a canvas and that's how I got the idea to make a challenge with this theme. In this project I wanted to show you some ideas how to draw on your pages in a very easy way.

I wanted to make sure that my focus is on the drawing work, I decided to use only my permanent black pen, some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays, the  'Blue Grass' from Primary Elements, Copper Mica Powder with the Light Paste, two stamps, some wire and chipboard letters for the tittle. So, no embellishments at all and I like it!

First I did some doodling on a photo of mine and wrote some words on my blouse. I also made a few simple lines on the paper to expand the photo. Then I started stamping with the Peeled Paint stamp on top and over my head (because that's the spot where my thoughts come of :)

To create my flowers, firstly I made some splashes with the sprays and then I drew the lines with the permanent pen abstractedly, without much thinking. The stalks of the flowers are drawn with the plastic hose of the sprays - that's pretty easy and fun thing to do! Finally I made some doodling with the same pen, not complex things, just some sloppy circles.

I hope I have encouraged you to do some drawing :)
I can't wait to see your projects for the drawing challenge
