'Lucky 13' - tiny canvas with video

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm hosting the Finnabair blog with a small project,
my third tiny canvas, with a video tutorial.

They say that 13 is an unlucky number. But what if we could define our own luck, stop being superstitious (I never was or will be, that's for sure) and decide to take chances even from things we never believed we could and even more at the end number 13 would be a lucky number?
Well, today's project is not about number 13, it's about being optimistic, take risks and create our own luck!

I was really in a pleasant mood when I was creating this project and I think this mood shows up in the final result. I wanted to use bright colors that make me happy and what would fit better than the beautiful combinations of blue, pink, yellow and green of the Alchemy Acrylic Paints?

I painted everything with all these beautiful colors, even the metallic embellishments like this cute Mechanical Butterfly and the frond part of an old hand-watch I  had in my stash.

Before I glue down the watch I filled it with different Art Ingredients like the Art Stones and Mini Art Stones (I so love these stuff!) and Bronze Micro Beads. Then I used 3D Gloss Gel to glue it on the canvas and make sure it won't go anywhere!

I used my Silicon Brush to apply different texture pastes and create an interesting textured background...

To make it even more cute I used Jump Rings to hang some trinkets like this cute tassel, Roman Numbers (which actually is number 10 and number 3:), a gear and the title I made from a 7Dots Studio sticker.

Here is my video with all the process. I hope you will enjoy it and get some ideas on how to create your own lucky piece of art.

Tiny roof tiles *video

Hello :)
My new tutorial for ColourArte is here:

I altered these cute tiny roof tiles in order to give them as a gift appreciation to my daughter's teachers. They already have them and both loved them :)

The ColourArte products I used to paint them are:

Primary Elements

All Purpose Clear Glaze Medium 4oz Bottle

I mixed the Primary Elements with the Glaze Medium and made custom waterproof paints.
You can see all the process in my video, I hope you will enjoy it!

tiny canvas #2

Happy Sunday!
Today I’m sharing a tiny canvas I created for ColourArte. It’s really a quick and easy project to do, it only took a few minutes to paint it!
To create this project I used:
ColourArte products
Other products:
  • small canvas 8×7 cm
  • Finnabair Black Gesso
  • Finnabair white crackle paste
  • Finnabair white sand paste
  • Metal embellishments
  • chipboard embellishment (for the roof)
  • wire
  • screws
  • word sticker (7 Dots Studio - Domestic Goddess)
  • package card stock
  • craft glue
First I cut the package chipboard in a house shape and glued it on the back side of the canvas. Then I covered everything with Black Gesso. When it was dry I applied the two texture pastes (crackle and sand paste) here and there. I placed the chipboard and metal embellishments in the wet pastes (they work as a glue) and left it dry naturally for 5 hours.
After it was dry I spread with a dry paintbrush the three colors of the Primary Elements here and there. I sprayed with water and dried it with a heat gun. Then I applied a thin coat of Clear Glazewith a paintbrush to make the Primary Elements permanent.
Next step was to highlight some spots with the Vintage Mint. I applied it with a dry paintbrush here and there. I really love this color because it gives a vintage touch at the project.

Last step of the painting process was to make some splashes with the Siam White H2O. You have to spray some water in the jar to activate the color and wait for a couple of minutes. Then your color is ready to use.

At the end I added two screws and twisted the wire in order to create a hanger for the little canvas. I also glued a sticker with my tittle: ‘Unknown’.
Here are some more closeups…

This is the first tiny canvas I created,
you can see it in this post

Tiny canvas 'LOVE'

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm sharing a tiny canvas I created for 2 Crafty Chipboard
for a friend of mine as a present.

It only measures 8x7 cm and I really love how small and cute it looks.
Even thought it is so small I managed to use 7 chipboard pieces and 2 metal pieces  to create a dimensional cluster like a pyramid!
This is how it looked before I altered the chipboards and paint it all.

In order to alter the chipboard pieces I used H2Os watercolors and silks by ColourArte and black embossing powder by Lindy's Stamp Gang.

First I created a mixed media background and then I started gluing all the embellishments with 3D Gloss Gel.

I really love how this tine mixed media pyramid looks!
Here are some closeups with details...
